Edie Sedgwick Inspired

60е годы можно назвать временем, когда жили женщины, определившие основные архетипы в моде: Мерилин, Одри, Элизабет... Особое место в этом ряду див занимает вовсе и не дива - Эди Седжвик. Она не сыграла ни Клеопатру, не спела "Happy birthday" президенту Америке, не имела отношения к "Завтраку у Тиффани". Зато она снялась в нескольких малозаметных артхаусных работах Энди Уорхола. Кстати, удивительно то, что Энди упоминает вскользь об Эди в свой автобиографии - мол, знавал я такую барышню, которая даже спала с макияжем, будто бы и не очень близко с ней был знаком и не ревновал ее к Бобу Дилану. Но это другая история. При все при этом образ Эди копируют чуть ли не чаще, чем остальных красавиц. Лично для меня в ее глазах - огромных, печально улыбающихся. Образ очаровательного богемного хулигана и глаза старой умудренной опытом женщины. Конечно, жизнь Эди могла бы сложиться по-другому, если... Это "если" всегда все портит, не так ли? Она могла бы выйти замуж, нарожать детей. Но она выбрала иной путь - может, именно поэтому она останется в памяти многих поколений вперед.

You can definitely say that 60's were the years, when there were women, those have determined the main fashion archetypes: Marilyn, Audrey, Elizabeth... A special place in this row of divas takes a non-diva - Edie Sedgwick. She hasn't played Cleopatra, hasn't sung a "Happy birthday" to president of the U.S., hasn't had any relates to the "Breakfast at Tiffany's". But she played in some of barely noticeable arthouse movies of Andy Warhol. By the way, he mentioned her cursorily in his autobiography - like he used to know such a girl that eve slept with full makeup on, as if he knew her briefly and wasn't jealous of her and Bob Dylan at all. But that's another story. For all that the look of Edie has been copied even more often that of other beauties. For me personally that's because of her big, sadly smiling eyes. The image of a charming bohemian rowdy with the eye of a mature, grown wise with the experience lady. Of course, the life of Edie could've been another, if... This "if" always ruins everything, doesn't it? She could've married a nice man, given birth to kids, but she has chosen another way - maybe that's why she will stay in memory of many generations after her death.
